Death instead of water
It was many years ago. There was a village named Mayapur where there was a water shortage for 20 years. And one had to go 7 kilometers away to get water.
One day a boy named Mohan went to collect water with his friends. It was a hot day and the sun was also very bright. Mohan and his friends got tired of walking on the way, and all of them sat under a tree.
Then one of the boys started telling a story from the same village. Last year, a woman’s child was crying due to lack of water. And he was very sick, so that woman came to our village to ask for water but no one gave her water.
When she was returning disappointed, she saw water at Thakur’s house on the way, so she tried to take water without asking. When Thakur saw her, he got very angry, and ran towards that woman with an axe.
That woman tried to run away from there but then she stumbled and fell. Thakur hit the axe on her neck and killed that woman. A day after that, that woman’s child also died without water.
After a few days, it was known that someone killed Thakur also with the same axe. And slowly his whole family was killed by some unknown power.
After listening to this story, Mohan was quickly returning home with water. It was evening and it had become dark. Then a small boy came in front of him and started asking for water from him.
He was tired after bringing water from such a distance and was breathing heavily, so he did not pay attention and said angrily- I will not give you water, go away from here! And that boy went away crying.
It was night, Mohan went to his room to sleep after eating food, then after a while he saw a woman. He suddenly woke up and looked and there was no one in front of him.
Then he thought that it might be a bad dream and went back to sleep. Then at around 3 o’clock in the night, he went out of his house to urinate. And as soon as he sat down to urinate, he heard the word ‘water’, it seemed as if a small child was asking for water from him.
He thought that the voice must have come from the house next door, and he ignored it and started going back to his room. Then again he heard the same voice, ‘water!’
Mohan got angry and shouted – ‘Who is troubling me so much? Come in front, I will give you water right now’. As soon as Mohan said this, he started feeling someone’s presence behind him.
He quickly looked back and was horrified. He saw a woman standing with an axe in her hand. He started trembling with fear and started running inside. But then he tripped over a stone and fell down.
What happened after that was nothing less than a miracle. There were light clouds in the sky that night and suddenly a few drops of water fell on the woman and she disappeared from there at the same time. Mohan started thanking God repeatedly for saving his life.
